Premier GPO Members Allowed to Sell Linacs, CT Scanners, MRI and other Medical Equipment to Any Third Party

Last September, Elekta and Premier announced that Elekta was awarded a group purchasing agreement. This agreement will allow clinics and hospitals (approx. 4,000 U.S. hospitals and 175,000 other providers) that are members of the Premier Group Purchasing Organization to obtain favorable pricing on all Elekta Products, including the Elekta Unity MRI/Linac, the Versa HD and Infinity linear accelerator systems, and more.

However, this agreement does not restrict Premier members to sell their used/pre-owned linear accelerator systems, including Elekta, Varian and Accuray models, to independent companies, such as ROS. “Members are sometimes unaware that there are no restrictions to selling to a 3^rd party” indicated one Premier representative.
